How old does my puppy need to be to come in for a groom?
We recommend starting at 15 weeks of age.
The very first grooming appointment is an introduction to the puppy and the owner to the world of grooming. The puppy will be introduced to a bath, blow drying, nail clipping, and slight trimming.
Can I stay and watch?
No, your dog will be constantly trying to get to you, and because he/she can’t they will be extremely stressed, anxious and will not stay still. This makes the groom difficult and often impossible. Discuss any concerns you have with the groomer when you bring your dog in, and then quickly and fuss-free hand over your dog. If you prolong the process, your dog will pick up on your anxiety and become more stressed.
Most dogs suffer some degree of separation anxiety when mum or dad leaves them, but you would be surprised how quickly dogs settle down and are happy with their groomer after you leave. It is normal for some dogs to shake and tremble a little when they arrive, but if you don’t fuss, hand them over quickly and leave, you will help them settle and relax.

We are really pleased with the cut Eric has had with Katie. His is a shih tzu lhasa apso mix and his hair grows long quickly especially around his face and back end. He is also quite a stubborn lad and not a fan of water. Katie took her times so that he didn’t become anxious and he has returned home looking beautiful and tidy and smelling fabulous! My French bulldog, Frankie has visited Bark N Bubbles for a deshed and pamper. He hates getting washed but Katie was so good with him and tried different ways of getting him dried as he’s terrified of the hair dryer – typical mad Frenchie! Would heartily recommend Katie and Bark n Bubbles.
